This painted violin is married with origami cranes. The yellow square design on the face of the violin is the exact size of the paper used to fold the cranes.
The story goes that the practice of folding paper cranes for good fortune and for healing was popularized by Sadako Sasaki, a young victim of the radiation from the Hiroshima disaster.
This piece was made for and auctioned at a fundraiser for the Santa Rosa Symphony Your Orchestra.
